Low Sugar Baked Custard

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups skim milk
  • 1/4 cup splenda granular or 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons light maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry syrup

Recipe

  • 1 beat the eggs.
  • 2 add milk, splenda and vanilla and mix well.
  • 3 mix syrups together and place 1 tbsp in the bottom of 4 ramekins or oven-proof cups.
  • 4 pour custard mixture gently into each ramekin.
  • 5 place the ramekins in a pan and fill the pan with boiling water to within 2 cm of the top of each ramekin.
  • 6 bake at 180 degrees c for 35-50 minutes.
