Amaretto Bread Pudding

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 loaf bread, cubed
  • 1 quart half-and-half
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons almond extract
  • 1 cup almonds, sliced
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup amaretto liqueur

Recipe

  • 1 place bread cubes, half and half, sugar, eggs, almond extract and almonds in large mixing bowl.
  • 2 mix until well combined.
  • 3 pour mixture into a buttered 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • 4 bake at 350 degrees f.
  • 5 for 35 minutes or until set.
  • 6 when pudding is almost finished baking, place butter in a saucepan and melt slowly.
  • 7 add powdered sugar and beaten egg.
  • 8 mix quickly so that the egg doesn't cook before it is incorporated.
