Lemon Sauce (for Crazy Gingerbread)

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 dash salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon peel
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Recipe
- 1 in a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
- 2 stir in water and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
- 3 remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. stir until butter is melted and mixture is well blended.
- 4 serve with gingerbread, bread pudding, or other desserts.
