Caramel Apple Bread Pudding

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 6 slices thick day old bread, cut in 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 cups warm milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped apple
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped pecans

Recipe

  • 1 place bread in greased 2 qt casserole. combine water and brown sugar and pour over bread. combine remaining ingredients and pour over bread.
  • 2 bake at 350 degrees for 50 - 60 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
