Ham And Cheese Bread Pudding

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 8 ounces french bread
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 8 ounces ham
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded, mild to sharp according to taste
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 grease 11x7-inch baking dish.
  • 2 spread 1 side of each bread slice with butter.
  • 3 cut into 1-inch cubes and place on bottom of prepared dish.
  • 4 top with ham and sprinkle with cheese.
  • 5 beat eggs in medium bowl.
  • 6 whisk in milk, mustard, salt and pepper.
  • 7 pour egg mixture evenly over bread mixture.
  • 8 cover; refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
  • 9 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 10 bake bread pudding, uncovered, 45 to 50 minutes or until puffed and golden brown and knife inserted into center comes out clean.
  • 11 garnish, if desired and then cut into squares.
  • 12 serve immediately.
