Granny Smith Apple Cake

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 granny smith apples

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 and grease a bundt pan with shortening.
  • 2 peel, core, quarter and slice the apples very thinly.
  • 3 set aside.
  • 4 combine all the other ingredients in a large mixing bowl and beat with electric mixer set to"low" for 30 seconds.
  • 5 turn the mixer up to"high" and beat cake batter for another 2 minutes.
  • 6 pour half the batter into the bundt pan and spread evenly around the bottom.
  • 7 layer apple slices evenly all over the batter, then gently spread the rest of the batter on top of the apple slices.
  • 8 spread this layer of batter evenly so that it"seals" the apples inside the cake.
  • 9 bake at 350 for 50 minutes.
  • 10 cool on wire rack.
