Chocolate Rum Bread Pudding

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons dark rum
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 4 cups bread, 1 inch cubes
  • whipped cream

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 f degrees.
  • 2 in a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and cream.
  • 3 add sugar, cinnamon, rum, salt, cocoa, bittersweet chocolate and whisk until well combined.
  • 4 spread bread over the bottom of a buttered 2 qt baking dish.
  • 5 pour the egg-cream mixture over the bread and let sit 10 minutes.
  • 6 place the baking dish inside a larger baking pan, add enough boiling water to reach halfway up the baking dish.
  • 7 bake 50- 60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • 8 serve warm with whipped cream.
