Plum Duff

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 2 tablespoons butter, no substitutions
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/2 cup molasses (either regular or light molasses is fine)
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup water, boiling
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup currants
Recipe
- 1 sift the dry ingredients together.
- 2 cream butter and sugar until fluffy; add egg and mix thoroughly.
- 3 add molasses.
- 4 add sifted dry ingredients alternatively to the batter with the boiling water.
- 5 add raisins and currants.
- 6 mix well; pour into a well-greased pudding mold and steam for 90 minutes.
- 7 serve with any desired pudding sauce.
