Dried Pineapple Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 cup dried pineapple bits
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 pour boiling water over dried pineapple bits in a bowl. let cool.
- 2 in a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. gradually stir in cooled water with pineapple, stirring well to dissolve.
- 3 cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. add butter and salt, cover and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
- 4 serve hot over bread pudding or plain cake.
