Dried Pineapple Sauce

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup dried pineapple bits
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 pour boiling water over dried pineapple bits in a bowl. let cool.
  • 2 in a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. gradually stir in cooled water with pineapple, stirring well to dissolve.
  • 3 cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. add butter and salt, cover and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
  • 4 serve hot over bread pudding or plain cake.
