Homemade Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 dash salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1 9 inch pie shell, baked
  • 2 cups fat-free whipped topping

Recipe

  • 1 combine ingredients through milk in a saucepan and cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until bubbly;continue cooking and stirring another 2 minutes.
  • 2 temper eggs by slowly adding a moderate amount of cooked mixture to them while stirring; return to saucepan; cook and stir over medium heat another 3 minutes.
  • 3 remove from heat and stir in butter, vanilla and peanut butter; lay a sheet of plastic wrap on pudding surface and cool; pour into baked pie crust.
  • 4 refrigerate until ready to serve, again using plastic wrap.
  • 5 add whipped topping and serve.
